INTENSE TT G8 GT Tuning and Dyno Results

Stock - 292 rwhp

Stock Dyno Numbers

Our INTENSE TT G8 GT started out stock of course and we wanted to get a baseline so we could gauge future modificationS. After the 500 mile break-in period we put our 2008 G8 GT right on the dyno and came away with 291.6 rwhp.

After establishing this baseline we started the progression of mods that would eventually become our 723 rwhp monster known as the INTENSE TT G8 GT.

INTENSE G8 ECM Tune dyno Numbers

Our first step was to see just how much power we could get out of the stock tune. By using HP Tuners we were able to modify the code in the stock ECM and after about 10 pulls we were sitting pretty with a 21 rwhp gain and an Air Fuel Ratio(AFR) much more to our liking.

APS Twin Turbo Dyno Numbers

Our second step was to add the awesome APS G8 Twin Turbo system to our INTENSE TT G8 GT. This system is made of the highest quality and allowed us to add 161 rwhp and almost 160 lb ft of torque with no other modifcations other than the APS Twin Turbo Kit and our tuning knowledge.

This setup maxes out the stock injectors and exhaust sytem of the Pontiac G8 GT so we decided to add some larger injectors and an exhaust and come back for more!

To remove the stock exhaust restriction we bolted on a prototype 3.0" exhaust system from Magnaflow. We also exchanged our stock injectors for a set of 60lb Siemens shorty injectors.

Now that we added larger fuel injectors we were able to raise the boost from 7psi to 9psi which resulted in 473 rwhp or a gain of 73 rwhp.

Our latest attempt to add power came in the form of a cam swap. We removed the stock cam and replaced it with a high lift LS1 cam. To do this we had to remove the Lifter Oil Manifold Assembly (LOMA) and disable the Active Fuel Management (AFM) but since we were more concerened with power than fuel economy it didn't bother us at all.

To help strengthen the block and hold the added power we also added stronger connecting rod bolts then we cranked the boost up to 12psi and let her rip. The results show our efforts and we were pleased with our final horsepower result of 723 rhwp.
