Bill Owen one of the people responsible for bringing the 3800 engine to the masses has had a long career of automotive performance spanning over 40 years. He worked for General Motors as a manufacturing engineer for half of that time and a design and development engineer for the other.

What some don’t know is that he also applied his automotive knowledge outside the workplace to become one of the top drag racers in the Midwest. He has 14 National Hot Rod Association divisional race wins including the 1996 NHRA Winston North Central Division Stock Eliiminator championship. It is these wins, along with his three NHRA class records and other racing accomplishments that have allowed him to enter the Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame.

Bill’s insight into the 3800 platform has helped INTENSE overcome some barriers during our decade of bringing performance modifications to the community and we want to congratulate him on his induction into the Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame.
