NOTE: As of 2022, new input sprags for 2003+ transmissions are no longer available from Borg Warner. Thus we cannot offer this complete kit. We can still source the clutch packs and 3rd sprags used in the kit (found elsewhere on our site), if you want to piece together your own kit with a used input sprag.

The 4T65E/-HD Pawl-Style Input and 3rd Sprag Kit utilizes significantly stronger pawl-style "ratcheting" sprags that are found in the 2003+ 4T65E-HD transaxle. The stock sprag setup in the pre-2003 4T65E is an "element" style sprag that is prone to failure in high horsepower high torque applications.

We have identified this sprag to be the next weak link in the 4T65E and we are proud to bring you an affordable complete kit to retrofit your pre-2003 4T65E sprag to the new dual pawl-style sprag kit. We also include the correct Borg Warner clutch disks and input steel plates that are REQUIRED when retrofitting your pre-2003 4T65E transaxle to the new dual pawl-style sprag setup. Not only does our kit allow you to run the significantly stronger pawl-style sprags but it also allows you to add a fifth clutch to the input clutch pack giving you 25% MORE clutch surface!

Our kit includes:

• Input pawl-style "ratcheting" sprag
• 3rd pawl-style "ratcheting" sprag
• 5 Borg Warner input clutches
• 5 custom thickness input steel plates

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- The 4T65E/-HD Pawl-Style Input and 3rd Sprag Kit must be installed as a whole kit. The pawl-style sprags cannot be bolted in by themselves.
- We recommend your 4T65E/-HD Pawl-Style Input and 3rd Sprag Kit be installed by a competent professional during a complete transaxle rebuild/overhaul.
