January 2024 - Note: We are currently out of stock, aside from a limited number of Stage 1 cams, while we wait for more cam cores to be produced, hopefully by Spring. Ordering for all cams aside from the Stage 1 has been disabled until then.

INTENSE™ Cams are manufactured from new 8660 billet camshaft blanks.

The new Stage 1X Cam is the IDEAL aftermarket cam for use with stock heads, lifters, rocker arms, retainers, and pushrods. The powerband is strong from 3,300 to 6,600 RPM, so you will want to use a higher stall torque converter, such as our ATI 245mm Heavy Duty Torque Converters.

The Stage 2 Cam should NOT not be used with stock cylinder heads, but is ideal for use with modified heads and stronger valvesprings. It produces a strong powerband from 3,500 to 6,800 RPM, so you will need to use a higher stall torque converter, such as our ATI 245mm Heavy Duty Torque Converters.

The Stage 3 Cam should NOT not be used with stock cylinder heads, but is ideal for use with modified heads and stronger valvesprings. It produces a strong powerband from 3,700 to 7,000 RPM, so you will need to use a higher stall torque converter, such as our ATI 245mm Heavy Duty Torque Converters.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • We recommend that a new timing chain and timing chain tensioner be installed in conjunction with any new 3800 cam
  • We recommend CompCams "OE R Series" Hydraulic Roller Lifters, stronger valvesprings such as the Crow Cams 105# Springs, and Valvespring Retainers with any aftermarket camshaft
  • We recommend INTENSE™ High-Performance Pushrods with any aftermarket camshaft
  • INTENSE™ Camshafts are hydraulic rollers, so no break-in period is required
  • No PCM changes are required, however the INTENSE™ Stage 1X Normally Aspirated Cam may set an occasional S.E.S. light after extended idle periods and the Stage 2 Cam WILL set the S.E.S. light.
  • Higher WOT shift points (6,300 to 6,600 RPM) and rev limiter settings will further increase the performance of the Stage 1X Cam. Stage 2 users will benefit by increasing those numbers by approximately 200 additional RPM and Stage 3 users will want 200 beyond that.

    Haven't got to test out parts yet but lemme tell you what these guys are excellent with responding promptly and shipping is just as quick plan to continue buying many more parts in future!!
